Clean with White Vinegar
White vinegar is a great cleaner for plastic items. Simply mix 50% water and 50% vinegar to create the cleaning solution and pour it into the container that you plan to clean. If the stain is on the outside, put the mixture in a larger container and then soak the plastic ware into the solution for at least 30 minutes. This should remove most light to medium stains.
Use Baking Soda to Clean Plastic Ware
Another common food item that can be used to clean plastics is baking soda. Make a mixture by combining 3 tablespoons of baking soda to 1 tablespoon of water. Mix the ingredients well until they form a paste. Then, use a cloth or an old toothbrush to apply the paste directly onto the plastic. Leave the paste to sit on the plastic for 20 to 30 minutes and wipe off with a wet washcloth after. For smaller plastic items, you can rinse the plastic thoroughly with clean water to effectively remove any remaining dirt or grime.
